As a graduate of Norfolk State University's Sociology program, Reginald places an emphasis on long form storytelling and humanizing athletes on and off the court. Website: reginaldthomasii.com
Where are you based?: San Antonio, Texas
Camera Brand: Nikon
Most Influential Photographer: Roy DeCarava
Favorite Lens: 24-70mm f/2.8, after getting it I shot basically everything with it for a few years straight on a crop sensor including the high school basketball project I worked on which changed my life and career.
In your opinion, what is the most/least diverse field of photography?:
Honestly I can’t speak to which field is most diverse. For me, it’s hard to gauge which is telling in and of itself. With that in mind, knowing that not everyone's work is widely accessible I think it's important to seek out people who's work and personhood resonates with you.
What do you consider the biggest hurdle for Black photographers today?
Access and opportunity early in a photographers career.
