behind
the shutter

The Black Shutter network has roots in advertising, photojournalism, and entertainment—a trifecta. We’ve seen what happens when the right voices aren’t in the room. Big brands stumble and miss the mark when trying to speak to the culture. Meanwhile, the opportunity gap for Black and Brown artists leaves countless stories untold.

We are that missing voice. The one that bridges the gap, amplifies the culture and ensures the story gets told right.

OUR MISSION

To close the gap between diverse audiences
and the stories they deserve.

We tell stories that move us first. If it doesn’t hit home, it won’t hit anywhere else. We bring authenticity because we care about the stories we put out. Every project is a reflection of who we are. No faking.

If it ain’t real, it ain’t us.

OUR VALUES

the black shutter podcast

The Voices of Black Creators - amplified for inspiration.

OUR BELIEFs

The magic happens when you bring different perspectives together. We’re a crew of creatives, each with our own journey and flavor. That’s the secret sauce. With deep roots in advertising, entertainment, and journalism, plus sharp skills in short-form content, we see what others miss and know how to tap into the minds of a diverse audience.
