EP 84 - Chester Higgins Jr.
About Chester
Chester Higgins Jr., is a legend behind the camera. He's held it down at The New York Times for more than four decades, capturing the essence of our people, especially those of African descent. His photographs - they've popped up everywhere, from Look, Life, Time, Newsweek, Fortune, Ebony, Essence, to Black Enterprise.
He's dropped some serious collections too, like "Black Woman" in '70, "Feeling the Spirit: Searching the World for the People of Africa" in '94, "Elder Grace: The Nobility of Aging" in 2000, and "Echo of the Spirit: A Photographer’s Journey" in '04. Chester's got that eye for truth, capturing our stories with style and substance—much respect to the brother behind the lens.
