Based in Chicago, Lawrence Agyei (b. 1990) is a visual storyteller influenced by his cross-continental upbringing. A third culture child, his work celebrates the interplay of his Ghanaian heritage, Italian background, and Midwest life. Fusing documentary photography with portraiture, he spotlights Black culture, blending fashion cues. Agyei collaborated with Apple, Nordstrom, Teen Vogue, and more. His work, featured internationally, includes The New Black Vanguard exhibition. Recognized by i-D in 2020, he won the Booooooom Photo Book Award in 2022 for DRILL. Agyei's impact extends to panels at Apple and the Museum of the African Diaspora.
