Thomas Allen Harris uses film, video, photography, and performance to explore family and identity in a participatory model of filmmaking that he has been pioneering since 1990. Born in the Bronx and raised in East Africa, Harris’ deeply personal films have received critical acclaim at international film and arts festivals; museums and galleries; and on television – including his series Family Pictures USA which looks at America through the lens of the “family photo album.”
